Save a Life - Give Blood at Community Blood Drives

(TROY, MI) – The City of Troy is proud to support the American Red Cross and all they do for our community, our country and around the world. The Red Cross needs to collect more than 13,000 blood donations and more than 2,500 platelet donations each day. Each pint of blood collected can help save up to three lives and will touch the lives of so many more. Donors of all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, B negative and A negative. This winter the City of Troy will host the following blood drives at the Troy Community Center | 3179 Livernois.

  • Thurs, April 18 | 1-7 pm
  • Mon, April 22 | 1-7 pm

  • Tues, May 8 | 1-7 pm
  • Wed, May 9 | 9 am – 3 pm
  • Mon, May 13 | 10 am – 4 pm
  • Tues, May 14 | 1-7 pm
  • Fri, May 17 | 9 am-3pm
  • Wed, May 29 | 1-7 pm
  • Fri, May 31 | 9 am – 3 pm

Donation appointments can be easily scheduled by calling 313.300.9617 or 248.524.1147, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, or by using the free Blood Donor App. Photo ID or Red Cross Donor Card will be required at the time of donation. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh more than 110 pounds, and be in good general health.

"84 percent of blood donations are given at blood drives—hosted by generous sponsoring organizations like ours,” City of Troy Community Affairs Director Cindy Stewart said.  “What a great way to pay it forward and make an impact on people in our community and across the country. It’s not every day that we do something that has such a lifesaving impact.”
