Vision

We value the worth, dignity and constitutional rights of all persons and the right to be treated equally with fairness and respect under the pure interpretation and application of the Federal, State and Municipal laws and derived codes and standards. We value a cordial and professional environment that promotes service, professional enrichment and ethical behavior towards the general public and among coworkers. We think of ourselves as public servants that have the sole vision and purpose of serving the public without personal interest or motives, to make decisions blind of prejudices. Code Officials must apply the code under the given State of Michigan ministerial duty and never under the ruling of frivolous and/or judgmental discretion.

Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO)
A Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) request will only be considered between December 1 & May 1.  A TCO will require the approval from the Building Department and an SESC, TCO Permit from the Engineering Department

The City of Troy Building Department staff must always defend and protect this vision and act upon the given obligations as stated under the City of Troy code of ethics, City of Troy Code and the City of Troy Charter.
