Community Programs
The Community Services Section is responsible for community outreach as well as crime prevention efforts.  The School Resource Officers, Community Services Officers and Public Information Officer all work together as part of the Community Services Section.  Officers are available to present a variety of safety and crime prevention programs for community organizations, houses of worship and businesses.  Contact the Community Services Section at 248.524.3477.

Security Surveys
Community Services Officers are trained in providing professional security tips at homes and businesses. This service is free to the community. To schedule a security survey, contact us at 248.619.7263 or email troypolice@troymi.gov.

Prescription Drug Safe Disposal 
The Troy Police Department has a dropbox for safe disposal of unused prescription medication. We are only able to accept pills. No liquids, gels, or sharps. Please call 248.524.3477 option 1 to confirm drop-off times. 

Outreach Events
The Department hosts several events throughout the year, offering a chance for mutual exchange between officers and community members.  Please check back for details about upcoming events including Troy Police Open House, Citizens Police Academy, Troy Police Community Night Out, the School's Out Safety Bash, and more.

Troy Police Fortify House of Worship Security Group
The Troy Police Department values the contributions that the many, diverse houses of worship make to our community.  The Department aims to support all houses of worship in their safety and security efforts through Fortify.  The Department hosts periodic training and networking events for house of worship leaders and security team members.  Please contact Officer Greg Pokley at pokleyga@troymi.gov for additional information.

Community Resources

The Community Services Section is the primary police resource for special events such as block parties, marches, parades, runs and walkathons.  The Community Services Section also provides community programs on a wide variety of safety-related topics for any community group or business, as well as crime prevention services.  Please call 248.524.3477 for more information.
