Police Career:
- 1978 graduate of the Macomb Police Academy
- 1978 - 1979 Police Officer, Grosse Pointe Farms Police Department
- 1979 - Today, joined the Troy Police Department where I have served as a patrol officer, member of the Special Response Unit and Directed Patrol Unit, promoted to sergeant in 1987 and served as patrol sergeant, sergeant in charge of the Special Response Unit, detective sergeant, Tactical Support Team, Southeast Oakland Curtail Auto Theft and Narcotics Enforcement Team, promoted to Lieutenant in 1992 and commanded patrol shifts, and the Staff Inspections Section, promoted to Captain in 1995 and commanded the Patrol, Investigations and Support Divisions
- 1988 - Police Officer of the Year, for activities involving the Curtail Auto Theft Unit.
- 2007 appointed Deputy Chief of Police
- April 6th 2009 Appointed as the 6th Chief of Police
