Fire Prevention Outreach


The fire prevention outreach program is tailored for business owners and property managers who are responsible for safety and maintenance of their facilities. It is intended to create a partnership toward fire safety, and educate attendees about fire code requirements so that they can apply the provided information at their facility before the next fire inspection.

FIRE PREVENTION FOR BUSINESSES
This program is a free fire prevention educational seminar designed specifically for the business community. We will explain how to prepare for the fire and life safety inspection, present fire code requirements in an easy to understand format, and share the most common fire code violations typically encountered.  We will also provide an opportunity to ask questions. This seminar is applicable to any and all businesses including factories, restaurants, retail stores, and business offices.  Future programs will include other fire safety related topics and may also address residential occupancies.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION AND PLANNING
This program is a free fire prevention educational seminar designed specifically for the business community.  We will review the requirements for commercial buildings to plan for emergencies, including emergency evacuations procedures. We will discuss what components should be included in an emergency plan, how often drills should be conducted, and show often employees should be trained.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a copy of their emergency plans for the class.

HOME FIRE SAFETY
This program is a free fire prevention educational seminar designed specifically for the residential community.  We are offering this program to discuss ways for residents to stay safe at home.  We will discuss common causes of fire, how to prevent fires, and what to do in case of a fire will help improve the overall safety of your homes.
