THE BACKBEATS
Using authentic instruments, clothing, and hairstyles, The BackBeats transport their audiences on a Magical Mystery Tour of yesteryear, when the whole world first heard the four names of John, Paul, George and Ringo. The BackBeats is proud to be the only Michigan-based Beatles show to have had sponsorship by both of the major classic rock Detroit radio stations (FM 104.3 and FM 94.7) and also by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. In 2009, when The Beatles released their highly anticipated video game "Beatles: RockBand", it was The BackBeats that were hired to represent The Beatles for the release of the game in the Michigan market. The BackBeats members have traveled the globe performing with various Beatle tribute shows, from The Cavern Club in Liverpool to the famed Carnegie Hall in NYC, and it’s members have opened for such acclaimed international acts as The Beach Boys, The Zombies, Leon Russell, America, Jefferson Starship, Vanilla Fudge, and Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits, among others and have shared the stage with several members of Paul McCartney’s former band, “Wings.” The BackBeats methodology has always been that although no one can deny the importance of recreating the music with note-for-note accuracy, it’s the presentation of the material, the ability to keep the audiences dancing, clapping, and laughing that has always made the band stand out amongst the scores of tribute bands around the world.

GARY GREENFELDER ORCHESTRA
The Gary Greenfelder Orchestra is a 19-piece big band featuring male and female vocalists plus a full 16-piece orchestra. Gary has been performing for audiences for as long as he can remember, performing with many groups throughout his career. In 1991, Gary became involved with a big band and not long after became its leader. Gary now leads three of his own groups. Gary has studied with many great trumpet teachers and performers, including Bobby Shew, Adam Rapa, Howie Shear, Claude Gordan and James Stamp to name a few. Gary’s passion has always been music and especially the trumpet. He spent a few years on the road with a show band and four years in Los Angeles pursuing his musical career. Today, he focuses all his time playing trumpet and promoting his groups for many venues throughout Michigan, while also finding time to play with other groups as well. His influences include Harry James, Doc Severinson, Maynard Ferguson, Chuck Mangione, Freddie Hubbard, Arturo Sandoval, Mile Davis and more. Trumpet is still Gary’s passion! His motto is simply: “WE STRIVE TO KEEP MUSIC LIVE!”

AIR MARGARITAVILLE
In 1992 Frank Bama (a stage name taken from a character in a Buffett novel) formed a musical tribute to Jimmy’s style of Caribbean Soul called Air Margaritaville. He and the band have struck a chord with Parrotheads throughout the mid-west. From songs Parrotheads know by heart like Cheeseburger in Paradise, Fins, and Volcano to Buffett’s classic covers of Brown Eyed Girl and Southern Cross, to the recent hits like Bama Breeze and It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere it’s impossible to stand still without feeling the urge to dance and sing along. Their shows take on the flavor of a carnival as people, dressed in their finest beach togs and formal flip-flops, take a break from the hassles of daily life, board a flying boat with this band of rogues, and hop from island to island bringing the party with them wherever they land.
The flight crew includes Charlie Salaz (bass), Marty Kane (drums), Tom McGovern (harmonica), Bing Buress (lead guitar), Lamar Woodall (steel drums), Jim LeFevre (keyboards), and Albert Hinosa (percussion). Air Margaritaville has played for thousands of Buffett fans throughout the mid-west and has even had members of Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band join them onstage. The band is a three-time Detroit Music Award nominee as “Outstanding Tribute Band”, have made numerous appearances on the Mitch Albom radio show and have opened for national acts like The Marshall Tucker Band. Their latest recording, “Alive Along the North Coast,” is available now.
