Officer Charles E. Smetana
Officer Charles E. Smetana died on December 11, 1969. He was responding to a personal injury accident when he himself became involved in a crash. Officer Smetana, only 33, gave his life trying to help others in need. His sacrifice will always be remembered.

Officer Martin "Marty" D. Chivas
Officer Martin "Marty" D. Chivas was killed on April 22, 1974. While investigating a robbery in progress at a service station, he was shot and killed by the burglars. The suspects were prison escapees on a multi-state crime spree. Marty was only 24 years old.  Officer Chivas laid down his life for the citizens of Troy.  He died in valor and will never be forgotten.

Officer Charles "Chuck" T. Mulvihill
Officer Charles "Chuck" T. Mulvihill died while serving the citizens of Troy on September 11, 2001. He was responding to a call for service when he suffered apparent heart failure.  Chuck served the City of Troy for 10 of his 15 years as a police officer and was the President of the Troy Police Officers Association.  His popularity and dedication to service will always be remembered.



Officer William McCabe
Officer McCabe died in 2017 as a result of injuries he sustained in the line of Officer_McCabeduty in 2002. Officer McCabe was struck by a vehicle in the intersection of Big Beaver and Crooks while on a marked police motorcycle. The driver had run a red light. Officer McCabe was a highly decorated and respected officer who was honored as the Police Officer of the Year in 2002 and had served our community for 26 years.
