Town Hall Discussion
Mondays from 2-3:30 pm
"Those who do not understand history are doomed to repeat it." Many of today's issues have been addressed, for better or for worse, in the past. This new series provides a forum for adults to explore hot topics, using history as a context for spirited, respectful discussion. Each session will be led by an authority on the subject. Participants will be provided background reading, to help them prepare. Bring your educated opinion and your open mind.
November 3: Image Versus Issues
Moderator: Mike Brady
On this day before the election, we will discuss what is more important in selecting candidates: their carefully-sculpted image, or their position on the issues. From Bill Clinton's saxophone
and JFK's looks, to Eisenhower's military background, we may even have time to discuss national trends regarding the 2008 election.
No fee! Phone registration required in advance.
