Print Shop

During the 1880s Troy's photographer, J. Henry Russell, also dabbled in printing, tinsmithing, and woodturning. His shop probably contained the same kind of type cases, tools, and presses found in this shop. The 1890 Chandler & Price and a 1910 Golding Jobber are both hand-fed letterpress machines that can print 500-1,000 copies per hour. Called jobbing houses, small nineteenth century print shops made posters, calling cards, and public announcements.

The township's old water meter testing workshop was renovated in 1978 to serve as the Village Print Shop.
